What are post covid symptoms?

These conditions can present as different combinations of health problems in a person who has recovered from COVID-19. The person starts to develop health complications including physical and mental issues, which can last different lengths of time. There’s no certain information on who can get those problems and why but people are coming out with different issues.  

Here is the common complications observed post recovery from COVID-19:

  1. Developing similar symptoms (In elders) – A person who had COVID can later develop the same symptoms. Although, this is more common in children and adolescents. Similar symptoms like headache, fatigue, fever, trouble sleeping are the most common. 
  2. Multiorgan effects – People who had severe symptoms of COvid experience autoimmune conditions over a long time. An autoimmune condition is when your immune system attacks healthy cells in your body. Multi organs effects can include heart, lung, kidney, skin, and brain functions. 
  3. Weakened immune system – COVID-19 weakens the immune system. Therefore, the person who recovered from covid tends to get sick more. Some patients develop fever, viral, cold, and cough more than other people.  

Weak immunity causes many other health issues and therefore the person should focus on a healthy lifestyle and the right nutrition to develop immunity.

   4. Other Symptoms – There are a few other symptoms that people with severe Covid Conditions can develop.

  • Neurological Symptoms
  • Gastrointestinal Symptoms
  • Hemothorax
  • Arthritis
  • Fungal Infections
  • Myocardial Infarction

What are the precautions to consider post-Covid recovery?

More than half of the people infected with COVID-19 have recovered from the virus. Recovered people may be left with weakened immunity, improper lung functioning, or breathing problems. 

Precautions to be taken post-covid recovery are as follows:

  • Wait for 14 days after getting symptom free
  • Gradual steps towards regaining your strength
  • Wear your mask and sanitize often
  • Don’t overexert yourself it may bring symptoms back
  • Do breathing exercises daily to nourish your lungs
  • Maintain a proper period between your activities
  • Keep the right intake of food to replenish your energy levels.
  • If you live by yourself, don’t feel shy to reach out to home care service
  • Donate plasma
  • Warm-up and start with light exercises
  • Wear breathable comfortable clothes
  • Keep the right proportion of meals if you are working out
  • Keep yourself hydrated
  • Avoid catching a cold with the sweat
